Wilderness First Aid Training

Wilderness first aid class this weekend went very well with lots of great new volunteers! Soon we will have this new group joining our ranks in the field.

A trainee practices treating an injured arm.

This marks the first training class in which we are training to a higher first aid standard, Wilderness and Remote First Aid. This standard includes additional instruction on illnesses and injuries likely to be encountered outdoors, longer term patient care, and requires more hands-on practice hours.

Trainees practice packaging a subject for transport.

We hope not to have to use the extra training but are ready if needed.

Trainees practice a hypothermia wrap to treat a hypothermic subject.
